NEST OF VILLAINS
The process

Five steps. One rule: never sound more certain than the evidence.

This isn't a slower version of an answer. It's the structure that makes the answer trustworthy instead of guessed.

1

Intake & Scope

We set the boundaries of the read together: your market or vertical, and what you're trying to learn. We also capture what you currently believe about your market and then seal it away until the read is done.

Your assumptions are recorded up front so the read stays independent and so you can see exactly where your map and the territory diverge.

2

The Isolated Field Read

We read your market from both sides; the demand side (what buyers are asking for, complaining about, working around) and the supply side (what the category actually sells and how it sells it). Deliberately isolated from your framing, to limit outside influence on what we find.

3

Classification

Every demand signal gets classified: met, unmet, claimed-but-not-met, a saturated trap (an apparent need drowned in messaging — not a differentiator), or a structural gap created by how the whole category operates. Each finding carries its evidence and a confidence mark.

4

The Validation Gate

We walk the findings with you and pressure-test them against what you know that no outside read can: your customers, your history, your vertical's quirks. Some findings hold. Some sharpen. Some get overturned as noise, and that's the gate working.

This is your veto before we act on your money. It also means you co-author what's true, nothing moves forward that you haven't confirmed.

5

Direction

For clients who want what to do, not just what's true. Every recommendation is tied to a specific validated finding and scaled to its confidence: a validated finding gets a concrete move, a hypothesis gets a cheap way to test it. And before we hand you anything, we run it back through the same scan, is anyone already doing this, and if not, why not?

The obvious move is usually the one that's already failed for a reason. We'd rather tell you that up front than let you build into it.

What we won't do

The honest limits are the product.

Most market analysis oversells what it saw. Ours shows you exactly where the edges are. Because that's what lets you defend a decision to a skeptical partner, board, or CFO.

No Manufactured Certainty

If a finding is unproven, we say so instead of dressing it up. That's the difference between advice and a guess with better formatting.

No Revenue Forecasts

We size and clarify the opening; we never predict your revenue. You get the opening, the evidence, and what it would take to capture it, a defensible case without a promise nobody can keep.

No Step-by-Step Guarantees

You're the industry expert, we're the read. Recommendations orient you toward the finding they stand on; they don't pretend to be a guaranteed playbook.
